Muslim extremists Boko Haram, with the alleged help of Nigerian army personnel killed 24 Christians this month in central Nigeria’s Plateau state, area sources said.
The attacks started Aug. 11 in Ratsa Foron village, where assaults that day and on Aug. 15 left six Christians dead; also on Aug. 15 in Heipang village, Muslim extremists killed nine members of one Christian family along with another Christian, the sources said.
“They were in army uniform. I even know some of them; they came along with the Boko Haram Muslims to attack us,” said a tearful Nnaji John, who lost her family in the attack. “I can swear to God Almighty that the attack was carried out with the support of the soldiers; I saw them.” Read the rest of this entry »
Study: Most Major Terror Plots Linked to Pakistan

Most of the major terrorist plots against the West since 2004 had links to Pakistan, including two that targeted Canada, says a study to be released today by a U.S. think tank.
In just over half of the 32 “serious” plots identified in the New America Foundation study, the participants had received either training or direction from jihadists in Pakistan.
The findings underscore Pakistan’s role as al-Qaeda’s primary safe haven, despite recent concerns about countries like Yemen, writes investigative journalist Paul Cruickshank, the study’s author. Read the rest of this entry »

Federal authorities announce the indictment of six people for allegedly plotting to raise money to attack Americans and others overseas to bolster the Pakistani Taliban.
One of the three arrested is picked up in L.A., while three others are believed to be at large in Pakistan.
In the first case since the death earlier this month of Osama bin Laden, federal authorities announced Saturday that they have indicted six individuals, including one in Los Angeles, in a conspiracy to raise money to “murder, maim and kidnap” Americans and others overseas as part of a plot to bolster the Pakistani Taliban. Scourge of terror funders: Israeli lawyer Nisana Darshan-Leitner
The Israeli mother-of-six who scares terrorists and their supporters and funders (including former World’s Worst US President Ever Dhimmi Carter) far more than any Western government could:
Terrorists are not noted for their respect for law, but an Israeli lawyer says she has seriously dented their operations by suing them in Western courts and seizing their assets.
Nitsana Darshan-Leitner says her Israel Law Centre has collected $120 million for victims of terrorism, put liens on $600 million more, and won judgments for more than $1 billion against such groups as Hamas, Hezbollah, the governments of Iran and North Korea and banks that service terrorists.
”We go after the funds of terrorist groups, taking away their oxygen. If you stop the flow of money you can stop the flow of terrorism,” Ms Darshan-Leitner said yesterday. Read the rest of this entry »

More evidence (if it were needed) of how some British Muslims express their love of country and gratitude to their hapless hosts:
“We are not like a government, we depend on individuals,” a Taliban commander told Sky News. “We get donations from our Muslim brothers in Britain for jihad and they help us. It is the duty of all Muslims to pay towards fighting a jihad. And this is how we get our money and buy our weapons and carry on fighting.”
The commander added that an attack on Britain and Europe could happen “at any time”.
However, in what was seen as a blow to the insurgents, Afghan and American official have been holding secret talks with the second ranking figure in the Taliban in the firmest indication yet that substantive peace talks have begun.
The Daily Telegraph has learned that Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar was released from Pakistani custody Baradar was the Taliban’s overall military commander until he was arrested in Karachi last February by Pakistani security forces. Read the rest of this entry »
