The Jew-hatred keeps on coming from rapidly-Islamising EU-Candidate Turkey:

Israeli jazz artist Itamar Erez and his ensemble have been forced to cancel a weekend show in Turkey due to alleged threats from pro-Islamic protesters.

The ensemble was expected to take the stage as part of the ongoing Akbank Jazz Days.

Erez said Sunday that his Adama ensemble was to have played in Istanbul over the weekend but added that after the Israeli consulate publicized the show, it drew the attention of anti-Israel radicals who threatened to disrupt it. The Mavi Marmara, which had been scheduled to lead the second Gaza flotilla, will not participate in this year’s attempt to break Israel’s blockade of the strip “due to technical issues,” according to organisers.

“I want to make it clear why the Mavi Marmara is not sailing with the Gaza flotilla: The exact reason has nothing to do with the government or the state, it is exactly about the technical problems. The Israelis, unbelievably [Yes. - Ed], damaged our vessel, the Mavi Marmara [last year],” Bülent Yıldırım, head of the IHH nongovernmental organisation, which was organising the ship’s participation in the flotilla, told a press conference Friday at İHH headquarters in Istanbul.

The announcement comes one day after the Hürriyet Daily News reported that pressure from the Turkish government on the İHH to cancel its plans were creating divisions within the group. On Tuesday, the İHH told the Daily News that they were reconsidering their plans to send the flotilla, citing Syrian humanitarian issues as possibly necessitating a reprioritisation of İHH aid. Even the word 'forbidden' is forbidden: Thousands of Turks protesting the latest internet censorship moves by the Islamist AKP Government, in Istanbul last weekend

Several thousand opponents of the proposed Turkish internet censorship bid, set to take effect in Turkey in August, marched in protest in Istanbul on Sunday.

Demonstrators carried signs in Turkish and English reading “Don’t touch my Internet” and “We don’t need protection,” while they chanted slogans against website censorship.
Internet users must choose among four filtering options, including family, children, domestic or standard settings, as a part of Turkey’s “Safe Internet Service.” Read the rest of this entry »

Video: Mourners gather in Istanbul to give al-Qaeda leader burial rites – even though he was buried at sea. ‘US, UK, Israel murdered a martyr,’ mourners chant

Thousands participated in a funeral ceremony for assassinated al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden in Istanbul on Friday, following Muslim burial rites but not including an actual burial.

Bin Laden was taken out by Navy SEAL troops last week and was subsequently buried at sea.

“The US, UK and Israel are the murderers of the martyr,” the participants chanted. “The US is the terrorist, bin Laden is the warrior.”

The mourners carried pictures of bin Laden and signs condemning his assassination, and called the man who planned the September 11, 2001, terror attacks that killed thousands of Americans “a beautiful, wise man, a warrior for Islam.”

The mourners, who gathered near Istanbul’s Fatih Mosque, which is located in the area that is considered Turkey’s epicenter of Islamic extremism, burned Israeli, American and British flags, and prayed facing a stone bench that traditionally holds the body of the deceased.

Mustafa Kemal Atatürk must be spinning in his grave – after 80 years of modernising and secularising, when Recep Tayyip Erdoǧan and his Islamist AK Party were elected in late 2002 it appears that a change of policy has meant that the clocks are being turned back in Ankara. All the way back to the Seventh Century.
