A Palestinian human rights organization on Thursday said Israel has begun using new methods of physical and psychological torture against Palestinian and Arab prisoners.
The Mandela Institute for Political Prisoners said in a press statement that the Israeli internal intelligence agency Shin Bet has been using painful means — mental and physical — of torture that leave fewer physical evidence such as forcing prisoners to sit in tiny chairs with hands and feet tied, making them stand up in closets, depriving detainees from sleep and using violent shaking.

Israeli officials later reinforced the claims, accusing the Syrian regime of encouraging protests along the northern border.

‘Pallywood’ scenes and BBC hand-wringing, as a Jewish man is forced to put his foot down to escape a hail of stones from Palestinian ‘youths’. More biased breathlessness from our beloved national broadcaster:
Two Arab children from the Silwan neighborhood of Jerusalem were injured after they were hit by a car driven by Elad director David Be’eri. Be’eri, head of a group that advocates for Jewish families to live in the predominantly Arab neighborhood, claimed that the youths were throwing rocks at his car and he hit them accidentally in an attempt to flee from the area.
“His car was surrounded with tens of people with rocks,” Elad spokesman Udi Ragones told the Jerusalem Post. “When they started throwing them, and he hit them when he tried to flee from the area. It seems that they were lying in wait and the ambush was planned with rocks, it may have even been a lynch situation. He felt his life was in danger.” Read the rest of this entry »
