13-Year-Old Saudi Girl Sentenced To 90 Lashes For Taking Cellphone To School

The Price of Sharia: What kind of 'law' permits this savagery?

Memo to long time Islamic finance fan Gordon Brown: you can’t pick and chose with Sharia:

A 13-year-old Saudi schoolgirl is to be given 90 lashes in front of her classmates after she was caught with a mobile camera phone. The girl, who has not been named, was also sentenced to two months in jail by a court in the eastern city of Jubail.

She had assaulted her headmistress after being caught with the gadget which is banned in girl schools, said Al-Watan, a Saudi newspaper. The kingdom’s use of such punishments has been widely condemned by human rights organisations. Three years ago 16 schoolchildren, aged between 12 and 18, were each sentenced to between 300 and 500 lashes for being aggressive to a teacher.

Under Saudi’s Sharia or Islamic law, flogging is mandatory for a number of moral offences such as adultery or being alone in the company of an unrelated person of the opposite sex. But it can also be used at the discretion of judges as an alternative or in addition to other punishments. Read the rest of this entry »

British Universities ‘Hotbeds of Islamic Extremism’

No you're not - you're 'useful idiots': silly, impressionable students used by smart Islamists and Marxists

Stephen Pollard, Editor of the Jewish Chronicle, writes in the Daily Express on an under-reported phenomenon that is playing out unchallenged in our Higher Education system:

WE like to think of our universities as havens of reflection and study – institutions in which our brightest youngsters can prepare for the rest of their lives.

So it’s shocking to discover that universities can harbour the likes of Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, the would-be Nigerian plane bomber who, it emerges, graduated from University College London in 2008 and was president of its Islamic Society.

But no one should be shocked because the role of British universities in breeding andfomenting extremism is one of our country’s most shameful secrets. Read the rest of this entry »

Jihad In The USA: Ex Muslim’s Boston Uni Speech Suffers Arson Attack

Ex-Muslim Nonie Darwish, whose speech at Boston University was halted by suspected arson

Ex-Muslim author Nonie Darwish, whose speech at Boston University was interrupted by suspected arson

Muslim Interest groups and money are ruthlessly strangling free debate at American Ivy League Universities and beyond:

Author Nonie Darwish, whose new book warns of the advance of Islamic law in the West, completed a scheduled speech at Boston University but not without the interruption of an apparent arson in a nearby restroom.

Darwish, whose recently scheduled addresses at both Columbia and Princeton were canceled following Islamic opposition, said the students who arranged her Boston University appearance this week believe the fire was an attempt to hinder her message. Read the rest of this entry »

Human Rights Watch: Fundraising Corruption for Israel Bashing

Even more tainted - HRW's recent report on Israel's Gaza action in January 09

Precisely tainted - HRW's recent report on Israel's Gaza action in January 09

UPDATE: further developments relevant to our previous Human Rights Watch article of 4th July 09

A delegation from Human Rights Watch was recently in Saudi Arabia. To investigate the mistreatment of women under Saudi Law? To campaign for the rights of homosexuals, subject to the death penalty in Saudi Arabia? To protest the lack of religious freedom in the Saudi Kingdom? To issue a report on Saudi political prisoners? No, no, no, and no. The delegation arrived to raise money from wealthy Saudis by highlighting HRW’s demonisation of Israel. Saudi Judge Refuses Divorce for 8 Year-old Girl

saudi_child_divorce_case2

Only following the Sunnah, your Honour..

A Saudi judge has refused for a second time to annul a marriage between an 8-year-old girl and a 47-year-old man, a relative of the girl told CNN. The most recent ruling, in which the judge upheld his original verdict, was handed down Saturday in the Saudi city of Onaiza, where late last year the same judge rejected a petition from the girl’s mother, who was seeking a divorce for her daughter.

The relative said the judge, Sheikh Habib Al-Habib, “stuck by his earlier verdict and insisted that the girl could petition the court for a divorce once she reached puberty.” The family member, who requested anonymity, added that the mother will continue to pursue a divorce for her daughter. Catching ‘em Young for Jihad (Part II)

Egypt - certainly no one-off show (click to watch)

Egypt - certainly no one-off show (click to watch)

I’ve been trying in recent weeks to illustrate one of the most insidious ways in which the ’stealth jihad’ works. As mentioned in my earlier post on ‘Catching Them Young for Jihad’, the leaders of Islam, like any good marketers, advertisers or extremist ideologues, know the massive power and value of indoctrination of the young.

The almost unanimous reaction when we show such videos to ’sheltered’ friends (i.e. most of them – and most others who only receive their news via the mainstream media); is ’surely this is an isolated example from a particular ’sect’ or ‘extremist channel’? ‘Would it were true’, is my unvarying response.
