Geert Wilders Speaks at the Re-opening of His Show Trial by Dutch Leftists

Wilders has been brought to trial by a cabal of leftist lawyers, entertainers and Marxists

The lights are indeed going out:

“The lights are going out all over Europe. All over the continent where our culture flourished and where man created freedom, prosperity and civilisation. Everywhere the foundation of the West is under attack.

All over Europe the elites are acting as the protectors of an ideology that has been bent on destroying us since fourteenth centuries. An ideology that has sprung from the desert and that can produce only deserts because it does not give people freedom. The Islamic Mozart, the Islamic Gerard Reve [a Dutch author], the Islamic Bill Gates; they do not exist because without freedom there is no creativity. The ideology of Islam is especially noted for killing and oppression and can only produce societies that are backward and impoverished. Surprisingly, the elites do not want to hear any criticism of this ideology.

My trial is not an isolated incident. Only fools believe it is. All over Europe multicultural elites are waging total war against their populations. Their goal is to continue the strategy of mass-immigration, which will ultimately result in an islamic Europe – a Europe without freedom: Eurabia.

The lights are going out all over Europe. Anyone who thinks or speaks individually is at risk. Freedom loving citizens who criticise islam, or even merely suggest that there is a relationship between islam and crime or honour killing, must suffer and are threatened or criminalised. Those who speak the truth are in danger.

The lights are going out all over Europe. Everywhere the Orwellian thought police are at work, on the lookout for thought crimes everywhere, casting the populace back within the confines where it is allowed to think.

This trial is not about me. It is about something much greater. Freedom of speech is not the property of those who happen to belong to the elites of a country. It is an inalienable right, the birthright of our people. For centuries battles have been fought for it, and now it is being sacrificed to please a totalitarian ideology.

Future generations will look back at this trial and wonder who was right. Who defended freedom and who wanted to get rid of it.

The lights are going out all over Europe. Our freedom is being restricted everywhere, so I repeat what I said here last year:

It is not only the privilege, but also the duty of free people – and hence also my duty as a member of the Dutch Parliament – to speak out against any ideology that threatens freedom. Hence it is a right and a duty to speak the truth about the evil ideology that is called islam. I hope that freedom of speech will emerge triumphant from this trial. I hope not only that I shall be acquitted, but especially that freedom of speech will continue to exist in the Netherlands and in Europe.” Geert Wilders, speaking at the re-opening of his show trial by Dutch leftists, 7 February 2011

Turkish PM Erdoǧan Using Lawfare to Intimidate Journalists Again

Turkish Prime Minister Erdoǧan routinely uses his position to intimidate Turkish media

Courtroom Jihad initiated by Turkey’s über-sensitive PM Recep Tayyip Erdoǧan to bully critical writers has become the norm, as Turkey slides ever closer to Islamic despotism:

Lawyers for Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan have filed a criminal complaint against the chief editor of a prominent newspaper, charging him with “assaulting the personal rights” of the prime minister in his critical columns.

The lawsuit centers on a column Ahmet Altan of daily Taraf wrote for his newspaper’s Saturday edition. The column, titled “Erdoğan ve Kof Kabadayılık” (Erdoğan and Empty Bullying), is the latest in a series of critical articles penned by Altan on Erdoğan’s recent statements and political stances. Pat Condell on CAIR: American Islamophobia

Pat turns his considerable firepower on the nexus of Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood in the US – the insidious Islamist lawfarers of the Council on Islamic Relations (CAIR). The objective of these anti-American arch courtroom Jihadists is nothing less than the total subversion of American values – and softening Americans up for dhimmitude.

All this while dressed, naturally, in the colours of ‘civil rights’ and ‘inclusivity’ – and then there’s that fluffy, conciliatory-sounding name.

And the most worrying thing about CAIR? The fact that, time after time, case after case – they’re getting away with it. More background on them here.

Enjoy.

US ‘Human Rights’ Lawyers Lose Court Case to Protect Terror Leader Al-Awlaki

Terror incitement: Al-Awlaki told Muslims they are free to kill American ''devils'' at will

Fifth-column lawfare lefties the ACLU seek to make Americans less safe. Fail.

A federal judge in Washington ruled on Tuesday that he lacks the authority to hear a lawsuit that sought to block the US government from carrying out the targeted killing of an American citizen hiding in Yemen who is suspected of involvement in terror operations.

US District Judge John Bates dismissed a lawsuit filed by the father of Anwar al-Awlaki, a dual US-Yemen citizen, who is reportedly on a US “kill list” of terrorism suspects. His ruling clears the way for the Obama administration to conduct the targeted killing – without judicial oversight.

The suit asked the judge to issue an injunction prohibiting the Central Intelligence Agency and Defense Department from intentionally killing Mr. Awlaki unless the government could first demonstrate that he posed an imminent threat to life or safety, and that no nonlethal means were available to meet the threat. UK Gitmo Compensation Update: Total Costs ‘Could Exceed £30 Million’

Moazzam Begg: Still agitating for Islamism and in line for a massive payout from the British Government

Insult to injury:

Compensation payments and legal costs for 16 British citizens and residents who claim they were tortured at Guantanamo Bay could leave the Government footing a bill of up to £30m.

The decision to settle the costly case also raises concerns about Britain’s true role in the torture of prisoners during the “war on terror”.

The case ends an already damaging court battle between MI5 and lawyers representing Binyam Mohamed, who alleges that Britain knew he was being tortured at the hands of the Americans.

The Tory MP Andrew Tyrie, chairman of the all-party group on extraordinary rendition, called on the Prime Minister to ensure that all evidence of any alleged torture or complicity would be given to a public inquiry into the allegations, chaired by Sir Peter Gibson, a retired judge.

We understand somewhat the reasoning behind this, but it still doesn’t take away the disgust. The Independent has the depressing full story.
