Islamist group refuses to allow eight students with scholarships to leave Gaza for year in US, Palestinian rights group says.

A Palestinian human rights group is condemning Gaza’s militant Hamas rulers for preventing teenage students with scholarships to study in the US from leaving the territory.

The Palestinian Center for Human Rights said in a statement Wednesday that Hamas is refusing to allow eight students leave Gaza.

It said the students were granted AMIDEAST scholarships, a program that educates talented teenagers from the Middle East and North Africa for a year in the US.

The ban comes a day after rights groups criticised orders by Hamas forcing aid workers and employees of nongovernment organisations to register with them before they travel.

Surely Hamas isn’t worried it be that during their trip to the big Satan, they might just discover that its possible to live a free, productive life away from under the jackboot of Islamofascist terrorist gangsters?

No that’s just got to be wrong..

Initial rumors suggested Islamist terrorists might be behind the Norway attacks. ‘This is predictable … but it is sad,’ says a Muslim advocate in the U.S.

In the immediate wake of the bombing and mass shooting in Norway that left at least 92 people dead Friday, Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg declared that it was too early to say whether terrorism was involved.

Some interpreted the statement to mean it was unclear whether Muslim extremists were behind the attack.

Right-wing websites quickly pointed the finger at “jihadis,” and Pamela Geller, publisher of the website Atlas Shrugs and executive director of Stop Islamization of America, wrote on her site: “You can ignore jihad, but you cannot avoid the consequences of ignoring jihad.” Read the rest of this entry »

The IDF’s Coordinator of Government Activities in Judea and Samaria, Major General Eitan Dangot, revealed last week that more than 60 rockets and mortar shells out of 460 rockets and mortar shells fired in the past year at the northern Negev from the Gaza Strip, were aimed directly at the land crossings from Israel into Gaza.

Dangot made the comments during a briefing to foreign reporters in Jerusalem, in which he explained how Israel assists Gaza’s citizens. He said that Israel has invested over 50 million shekels in renovating and increasing the capacity of the Kerem Shalom crossing, the crossing through which most of the goods enter Gaza.

Dangot presented to the foreign journalists a long list of relief measures taken by Israel to help the Gaza Strip since the Cabinet decision of June 2010, in which it was decided to increase the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Strip. Read the rest of this entry »

GAZA CITY – Masked gunmen on Sunday set fire to a Gaza beach club that had earlier been ordered closed by the territory’s Hamas rulers, an owner said.

Alaa al-Araj, one of the owners of the “Crazy Water” club and a former Hamas minister, said about 40 gunmen had tied up and blindfolded a nightwatchman before setting fire to an administrative building and restaurant overnight. Read the rest of this entry »

It is emerging that not only are the Turkish Gaza flotilla organisers IHH the lead organisers of the violent ambush of Israeli military personnel boarding the main vessel of the so-called Palestinian ‘aid mission yesterday’, but they are also deeply involved in the funding of violent, anti-Western Islamic terror:

The Turkish organizers of the Gaza Strip-bound flotilla that was boarded yesterday by Israeli commandos knew well in advance that their vessels would never reach Israeli waters. That’s because the organizers belong to a nonprofit that was banned by the Israeli government in July 2008 for its ties to terrorism finance.

The Turkish IHH (Islan Haklary Ve Hurriyetleri Vakfi in Turkish) was founded in 1992, and reportedly popped up on the CIA’s radar in 1996 for its radical Islamist leanings.
