Thousands of Muslims attended a peace conference in London which condemned terrorism, organisers say. Islamic group Minhaj-ul-Quran said that more than 12,000 Muslims gathered at Wembley Arena for its Peace for Humanity Conference.
The conference launched a campaign to get one million people to sign an online declaration of peace by 2012.
Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri says the anti-terror rally would send a message that 10 years of extremist activity should end. Read the rest of this entry »

Fauxtilla fakers cried, British journalists lied:
British newspapers carried reports Thursday about the Israel Navy’s takeover of the final “Gaza flotilla” ship headed for Hamas territory but neglected to remind their readers of the extreme violence perpetrated by activists on last year’s flotilla.
Just Journalism’s The Wire blog reports that The Independent, The Daily Telegraph, The Guardian and the Financial Times all carried stories about the boarding of the Dignite al-Karama, the final ship in this year’s convoy attempting to break Israel’s maritime blockade of Gaza.
This was the only boat in this year’s convoy that had to be intercepted by Israeli naval forces. The Wire notes that the event could have been expected to prompt comparisons with the 2010 raid of the Mavi Marmara, during which nine Turkish passengers were killed when they tried to lynch Israeli soldiers. Israeli officials later reinforced the claims, accusing the Syrian regime of encouraging protests along the northern border.

As the already wholly discredited circus gets underway again, it’s interesting to note how European media are running scared – not only of litigious Islamic interests, but of the real elephant in the room – the depth of public antipathy toward Islamisation and multiculturalism they are (increasingly unsuccessfully) attempting to stifle:
The court case against MP Geert Wilders on charges of inciting hatred and discrimination resumes on Wednesday.
The focus at today’s hearings is on a dinner party during which Wilders’ legal team claims a senior court official tried to influence a witness in the case.
Senior court official Tom Schalken was a member of the appeal court which ruled Wilders should be taken to court, even though the public prosecution department was opposed. Read the rest of this entry »

The world’s press and TV has been abuzz over the past few days with the story of Arid Uka, a 21 year-old Kosovar who has been charged with two counts of murder and a further three of attempted murder.
The Frankfurt Airport employee apparently shrieked ‘Allahu Akbar!’ (‘God is greatest’), as he emptied his pistol into his victims; US military personnel who had just arrived in Germany from a British airbase. He also attempted to murder a third, execution-style – firing his pistol while it was held at the would-be victim’s head. Luckily it misfired.
In a bizarre twist, it was reported that while being interviewed, Uka, a ‘devout’ Muslim, claimed he had been driven to commit this atrocity after seeing a video on YouTube*, allegedly showing the rape of a Muslim woman by US soldiers. Read the rest of this entry »
