From finger-wagger to body bagger - goodnight and good riddance, Anwar...

Good riddance to bad Islamist rubbish:
The US-born radical Islamist cleric and suspected al-Qaeda leader Anwar al-Awlaki has been killed in Yemen, the country’s defence ministry has said.

A statement said only that he died “along with some of his companions”.

Awlaki, of Yemeni descent, was on the run in Yemen since December 2007.
The US has named him a “specially designated global terrorist” for his alleged role in a number of attacks and US President Barack Obama is said to have personally ordered his killing.

The defence ministry gave no further details of his death, which could not be independently verified.

But tribal sources told AFP news agency Awlaki was killed in an air strike in the eastern Marib province, said to be an al-Qaeda stronghold.

It is not clear whether he was killed by Yemeni forces or a US drone strike. Read the rest of this entry »

Habib Ahmed and Raingzieb Ahmed were charged with membership of a terrorist organisation between January 2002 and September 2006. Raingzieb Ahmed (R) was said to be a senior al-Qaeda leader

… out of a supposed 10-year sentence. More judicial lost-the-plot-ness, from Absurd Britannia:

A member of al-Qaeda jailed for ten years in 2008 for his part in a terror plot has been released early from prison.

Habib Ahmed, 32, was convicted after being caught smuggling code books written in invisible ink into the country.

He was part of a British terror cell, headed by Rangzieb Ahmed, that police believe were planning a massacre in Britain. But despite being jailed for ten years in December 2008, he has now been released and is living at a bail hostel in Manchester.

During his trial the court heard how Ahmed downloaded a document called “a study of assassination” and looked up bomb-making techniques. Read the rest of this entry »

Al-Qaeda-linked Boko Haram: they're only doing what the Qur'an commands

Believers, make war on the infidels who dwell around you. Deal firmly with them.” Sura 9:121

Muslim extremists Boko Haram, with the alleged help of Nigerian army personnel killed 24 Christians this month in central Nigeria’s Plateau state, area sources said.

The attacks started Aug. 11 in Ratsa Foron village, where assaults that day and on Aug. 15 left six Christians dead; also on Aug. 15 in Heipang village, Muslim extremists killed nine members of one Christian family along with another Christian, the sources said.

“They were in army uniform. I even know some of them; they came along with the Boko Haram Muslims to attack us,” said a tearful Nnaji John, who lost her family in the attack. “I can swear to God Almighty that the attack was carried out with the support of the soldiers; I saw them.” Read the rest of this entry »

A typical call for interfaith dialogue from the al-Qaeda-linked Shumukh al-Islam forum

“O Allah, destroy their buildings with explosives, their cars with booby-traps, and their men with sniper rifles,” Contributor, al-Qaeda-linked Shumukh al-Islam Jihad Forum

A terrorism-monitoring organization said Friday that jihadists are threatening Belgium with terrorism for having imposed a burqa ban.

In an email to subscribers, the United States-based SITE Monitoring Service quoted posts on jihadist internet sites as urging the bombing, torture and killing of Belgians. In its introduction to the posts, SITE made no assessment of the severity of the threat.

According to SITE, on July 24 — the day after Belgium’s burqa ban took effect — someone called Faz al-Shaheed posted a comment on the Shumukh al-Islam forum saying, “This is what your parliament unanimously decided except for one representative, to ban the wearing of the veil in your small country. So, by this decision you have ignited unto yourselves a fire without an extinguisher. … I urge our Muslim brethren in Belgium to do what they can of bombing, destroying, torturing and assassinating them, because they are the ones who started it.” Read the rest of this entry »

Pakistan Condemns Bin Laden Raid, Drone Operations

Pakistan's main export

Pakistan's main export

And in doing so shows its true colours – and provides a unique opportunity for the West to extricate itself from this ungrateful, double-dealing country:

The Pakistani parliament has called for a review of the country’s relationship with the US over the American commando raid that killed Osama Bin Laden, as Pakistan condemns Bin Laden raid, drone operations.

During a long joint session held to debate the US operation, MPs called for an independent investigation.

They unanimously passed a resolution urging a ban on Nato transit convoys unless the US ends drone attacks. The session followed Friday’s double suicide bombing that killed 80 people in north-western Pakistan.

At least 120 others were wounded in the attack on a Frontier Constabulary training centre in Shabqadar, Charsadda district. Read the rest of this entry »
