Western Tax Havens Protecting Muslim Terror Financing Systems
Money-laundering and tax-dodging refuges such as Switzerland, the Bahamas and the Cayman Islands are being used to protect Hawala operators – an informal money transfer system used by Muslims around the world, which is strongly implicated in terror funding and the narcotics trade. Indian efforts to trace Hawala operators involved in money laundering and terror financing are facing hurdles due to non-cooperation of many countries where these racketeers operate, according to a global task force. The unhelpful countries include tax havens like Cayman Islands, Bermuda, Bahamas and Switzerland.
To get around the hurdles being created by these countries India is trying to strengthen its tax treaties with them. “The authorities (Indian) have indicated that part of their frustration in trying to tackle this (Hawala) problem is the lack of co-operation that they receive from some countries where the transfers originate,” said the multi-national Financial Action Task Force (FATF), an inter-governmental organisation founded in 1989 by the G7 (group of seven industrialised nations) to develop policies to combat money laundering and terrorist financing. Pakistan Floods: If You Need Help, You’d Better Not Be Christian
Pakistanis waiting for aid - but Christians and those of other non-Muslim faiths are being denied help
As always in Islamic countries – how you are treated depends on which religion you adhere to. And take it from us, you really had better be Muslim in Pakistan. in addition to the everyday beatings, killings, rape, police brutality and legal discrimination, it appears that even charity in time of crisis is conditional:
Christians and members of other minority religions are being treated as second-class citizens, said Father Mario Rodrigues, the Lahore-based director of Catholic Mission.
“They often receive little assistance or are excluded altogether,” he told Fides, the Vatican’s news agency.
Aid is being delivered by “government officials sympathetic to Islamic fundamentalism or by Muslim relief organisations”, Fides claimed in its report, citing other unnamed aid workers. Read the rest of this entry »

Egyptians, Muslims and Christians alike, are closely watching the controversy associated with the Ground Zero Mosque project, though for different reasons. The Egyptian media is giving this issue full coverage with articles mostly accusing Americans of Islamophobia, and supporting Muslims to hold on to their rights to build a mosque anywhere as guaranteed by the US constitution, regardless of what Americans think.
On the other hand, some influential Muslims rejected the idea of a Mosque near Ground Zero only on grounds that it would backfire on Islam, by connecting it to the 9/11 events. Obama’s ‘Outreach’: Millions to be Spent Restoring Islamic Sites Worldwide
Appeasement of Islam and Muslims to the point of damaging his approval ratings has been a hallmark of the Obama administration
As US President Barack Hussein Obama continues on his seemingly endless quest to appease Muslims, with instructions to NASA to ‘find a way’ to reach them, Iftar dinners at the White House and the US State Dept.’s sponsorship of Ground Zero Mosque Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf’s forthcoming ’speaking tour’ of Muslim countries (without knowledge of what exactly he’ll be talking about); it emerges that that his administration is also planning to spend millions of taxpayer dollars on the restoration of dozens of Muslim sites around the world:
WASHINGTON – The goodwill tour of the Middle East by the Imam behind the proposed mosque near ground zero is just part of the U.S. government’s efforts to reach out to the Muslim world.
This year, the Obama administration will spend nearly $6 million to restore 63 historic and cultural sites, including mosques and minarets, in 55 nations, according to State Department documents.
Under a program established by Congress in 2001, the department will fund at least five projects in as many countries at a cost of more than $271,000. Read the rest of this entry »

This report from the BBC’s ‘From our Own Correspondent’ series, looks at the Swedish Government’s recent deportation of Iraqis from Sweden. What seems unusual about the current wave of deportations is the the subjects are Assyrian Christians, possibly the most endangered Iraqis of all:
Although Sweden once led the way in welcoming Iraqi refugees, the authorities are now clamping down and Iraqi asylum seekers are increasingly faced with deportation.
