A Muslim woman was barred from boarding a flight after she refused to undergo a full body scan for religious reasons [we'll be hearing more of this in the near future-Ed].

The passenger was passing through security at Manchester Airport when she was selected at random for a full-body scanner.

She was warned that she would be stopped from boarding the plane but she decided to forfeit her ticket to Pakistan rather than submit to the scan. Her female travelling companion also declined to step into the scanner, citing “medical reasons” for her refusal.

The two women are thought to be the first passengers to refuse to submit to scanning by the machines, which have provoked controversy among human rights groups. Read the rest of this entry »

Once again, Pat Condell eloquently voices what everyone else is thinking. Or would be thinking, if this trial weren’t being ignored by much of the European mainstream media.

Five of the idiots who hurled obscene abuse at homecoming soldiers in Luton last year, and on whose prosecution we reported last week, were convicted today. The BBC has the full story here if you’re interested – but we couldn’t help but be amused by their fellow Muslim solicitor who, seemingly without any sense of irony whatever, attempted to use French Enlightenment philosophy to defend Islamofascism, as he quoted Voltaire to the court:

“Voltaire said ‘I disagree with what you say but I will defend to the death your right to say it. ‘That was in the 18th Century. Things have moved on since then, though perhaps not as quickly as one might have liked. If you believe in freedom of speech you have to accept that some things will be said that you will like and some things will be said that you will not like.” – Jubair Ahmed’s lawyer,  Sonal Dashani

Muslim extremists, of course, just lurrrve freedom of speech when it allows them to act unfettered, but when Westerners say (or draw) what they feel to Islamists – well, you know the drill…

A church in Malaysia has been fire-bombed in an attack that gutted its ground floor, church officials said Friday, escalating a dispute over the use of the word “Allah” by non-Muslims.

A fire department official said all stations were on alert for more blazes at religious buildings, ahead of planned nationwide protests Friday by Muslim groups angry over the use of the word as a translation for “God” by Christians.

The three-storey Metro Tabernacle church in suburban Kuala Lumpur, part of the Assemblies of God movement, was set ablaze in the attack which took place around midnight, said church leader Peter Yeow, 62. Read the rest of this entry »

BOSTON – A Muslim rights group is asking the federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission to investigate a Massachusetts college that is banning students from wearing head coverings that obscure the face.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations says even though the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences policy is aimed at students, it would have ”a disproportionate impact on the religious rights of Muslim employees.”

The policy bans students from wearing clothing such as burqas and face veils, as well as ski masks and scarves. Read the rest of this entry »

Just before many in the West began to wind down for Christmas, an atrocity was committed at a remote Hindu Temple in North West India, near the Bangladesh border.

The Kali temple, at  Kankra village , Kachua Panchaye, was desecrated. The Murthi icon figure was stripped and its genital area vandalised and burnt. This place of worship, a famous and holy place to Hindus, is visited by hundreds of thousands of pilgrims every year.

So let’s see:

• Adherents of the affected religion increasingly in the minority in the area – check
• Violent vandalism of another faith’s place of worship – check
• Attacks on non-Muslims on the increase in the area - check
• Peurile sexual disfigurement of religious symbols – check
• Robbery/looting – check
• Local lefties dismissing the attack as an ‘isolated incident’ – check
• Police seemingly doing nothing – check

In a triumph for common sense, Ben and Sharon Vogelenzang have been cleared of all charges at Liverpool Magistrates Court today.

District judge Richard Clancy dismissed the case at Liverpool Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday afternoon.

A sensible judgment that should make the illiberal Labour apparatchiks (and Merseyside Police) think again – but probably won’t.

The court trial of a hotel-owning British couple who were charged with ‘hate speech’ after a Muslim guest complained to police following a discussion on Islam, is scheduled to begin today.

Our thoughts are with Ben and Sharon Vogelenzang who are facing personal and professional ruin due to the dhimmi Labour government’s assault on the principle of free speech – and we will keep you updated on their progress.

More than 57% of Swiss voters have supported a referendum proposal to ban the building of minarets, according to results from 25 out of 26 cantons.

Partial results from the final canton indicated 68% of people there supported the ban, Swiss news agency ATS said.

The proposal has been backed by the Swiss People’s Party (SVP), the largest party in parliament, which claims minarets are a sign of Islamisation. Read the rest of this entry »
