Lets slip world’s worst-kept secret:
Western diplomatic efforts aimed at heading off a United Nations resolution on Palestine statehood appear to be making little or no progress. The United States and other allies are trying to find a way to push Palestinians back into direct peace talks with Israel, but those efforts have been rejected.
Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas complained that “all hell has broken out against us” over the UN effort, but that there was no turning back from the present course.
That course, Iran’s ambassador to Egypt said in a weekend interview, was merely one stage in a broader effort. The push for full membership of Palestine as a UN member state “is a step towards wiping out Israel,” said Ambassador Mojtaba Amani in an interview with Al-Watan al-Arabi. “But the Palestinians must that follow a correct example and complete all the measures to prevent the Zionist Entity from depriving them their rights.”
This is no embarrassing slip of the tongue. Despite claims to the contrary and increasingly shaky-looking ‘peace treaties’, (see ‘Hudna’ in our Lexicon of Jihad) Every single one of Israel’s Islamic neighbours – including ‘Palestine’ – is predicated on nothing less than the annihilation of the Jewish state, the only advanced democracy in the Middle East.
Wonder what that could be for? (H/t Un:dhimmi reader Peter):
Iran has agreed to fund a new multi-million-dollar military base on the Syrian coast to make it easier to ship weapons and other military hardware between the two countries, according to Western intelligence reports.
Under the terms of the deal, which was concluded after a high-level Syrian delegation visited Tehran, Iran is to assist with the development of a new military compound at Latakia airport which will be completed by the end of next year. The aim of the agreement is to open a supply route that will enable Iran to transfer military hardware directly to Syria.
Western security officials say the deal was agreed following a visit to Tehran in June by Muhammad Nasif Kheirbek, Syria’s deputy vice-president for security affairs and an ally of President Bashar al-Assad.
Iran and Syria have enjoyed a close strategic alliance for decades, founded on their mutual antipathy towards the West. Read the rest of this entry »
….as well he might – the game’s been up for years. Only the Mullahs wish to stay in denial:
VIENNA: Iran president wants to shed the nation’s secrecy and forge ahead openly with developing nuclear weapons but is opposed by the religious leadership, which is worried about international reaction to such a move, says an intelligence assessment shared with The Associated Press.
Until now intelligence reports had assessed Iran President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad as relatively moderate on the nuclear issue compared to the country’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. But a blunt comment by Ahmadinejad last month on Iranian state TV that “if we want to make a bomb, we are not afraid of anybody” fits the scenario laid down by the intelligence assessment. Allah-sanctioned vandalism – another example of Islamic nihilism and Jew hatred. But Israel will have the last laugh this time:
At least four masked gunmen attacked the station, near the town of Al-Arish, about 30 miles west of the Israeli border, in the early hours of Tuesday. The attackers ordered the guards on duty to leave and then blew up the terminal, starting a fire that could seen from 12 miles away,
There were no reported casualties. It was the fourth attack on facilities supplying Egyptian gas to Israel this year.
Egypt’s gas transport company, Gasco, a subsidiary of the national gas company EGAS, had been finalising repairs on a pipeline that supplies gas to Israel and Egypt, and was expected to complete the work over the weekend. Read the rest of this entry »
[Ahmadinejad adviser Esfandiar Rahim Mashaei] “…… has used has hypnotism, spells or charms to take control of Ahmadinejad. “I am almost certain that he has been bewitched” Ayatollah Mohammad Taghi Mesbah Yazdi
Top Turban Ayatollah Mohammad Taghi Mesbah Yazdi, who claimed a couple of weeks ago that Iranian Pesident Mahmoud Amadinejad had been ‘bewitched, has now urged followers to continue suicide attacks against Israelis, including children.
Ayatollah Mohammad Taghi Mesbah, considered one of the Islamic Republic’s most radical clerics, issued a fatwa on his website declaring that suicide attacks are not only legitimate but are a must for every Muslim.
Ahmadinejad is behaving “unnaturally” and needs to be “saved,” said Yazdi, a former supporter of the president, in an interview with the weekly magazine ‘Shoma’ recently.
This passes for normal political dialogue in the country that the UN’s former nuclear watchdog-turned-Egyptian Islamist politico Mohamed ElBaradei, the US, European and other Western Governments have allowed to obtain nuclear weapons – and ones that are not too far away from being ready to strap onto missiles that can reach New York, let alone Tel Aviv.
Scared? You bet you should be.
