As always in Islamic countries – how you are treated depends on which religion you adhere to. And take it from us, you really had better be Muslim in Pakistan. in addition to the everyday beatings, killings, rape, police brutality and legal discrimination, it appears that even charity in time of crisis is conditional:

Christians and members of other minority religions are being treated as second-class citizens, said Father Mario Rodrigues, the Lahore-based director of Catholic Mission.

“They often receive little assistance or are excluded altogether,” he told Fides, the Vatican’s news agency.

Aid is being delivered by “government officials sympathetic to Islamic fundamentalism or by Muslim relief organisations”, Fides claimed in its report, citing other unnamed aid workers.

About 200,000 Christians in Punjab province and about 600,000 Christians and Hindus in Sindh province have been affected by weeks of monsoon rain.

At least 1,600 people have been killed in the country’s worst natural disaster, and on Friday, officials warned that the death toll was expected to rise significantly as many people remained missing.

Over the past two days, fresh floods from the surging river Indus smashed through levees in two places, forcing one million people from their homes.

Ahmad Kamal, spokesman for the National Disaster Management Authority, denied the accusations of prejudice. “We have no discrimination, no requirements, no checklist. Aid goes to everyone,” he said [right. - Ed].

However, Nazir Bhatti, President of the Pakistan Christian Congress, urged donors to make special provisions for Christians.

“I appeal to organisations and countries which are giving aid to government of Pakistan for flood victims to allocate separate or special funds for Christian flood victims and transfer it to Caritas Pakistan or Bishops Conference of Pakistan for food, tents and medical facilities,” he said in a statement.

In all, some eight million people need emergency help and the monsoon season is due to last another three weeks.

The BBC has had the Pakistan floods story permanently affixed to he top of its news agenda for weeks now – but, true to form for an organisation that seems to delight in ‘informing’ us about Islam (and airbrushing out all the nasty bits), there is no mention whatsoever of this story – as always, it seems, it is left to a right-of-centre newspaper to present the fuller picture.

We believe that Pakistan should in any case pay for its own flood relief out of the billions of dollars it receives from developed nations every year – money that instead of finding its way to the people who need it ends up lining the pockets of corrupt politicians and ‘businessmen’; and paying for the military.

Future humanitarian aid should be witheld altogether, until the Pakistanis can prove that assistance is being given to all – and that an appropriate part of the massive amounts of ‘development aid’ it receives every year is apportioned to preventative work.

The military said air strikes were also launched against rebel positions deeper inside Iraqi territory.

The offensive took place after rebels made an unsuccessful attack on border guards, Turkish officials said.

Turkey has been fighting insurgents of the Kurdish Workers Party (PKK) for more than a quarter of a century.

Military officials said three commando companies and one special forces battalion penetrated 3km (two miles) into Iraq in pursuit of the rebels.

The PKK is fighting for autonomy in Turkey’s largely Kurdish south-east.

The group is considered a terrorist group, not just by Turkey but by the US and the EU.

More than 40,000 people are believed to have died in the conflict, on both sides.

Had this been a certain other country*, we would have never heard the end of it. A chorus of condemnation would have ensued from Washington to Beijing, the media calling for UN intervention. The bar-room lawyers would have been holding forth about ‘international law’; lefties everywhere would be out on the streets of major capitals chanting ‘Free the **********s’ and generally being annoying. But in stark comparison to events in this certain other country* – almost nothing.

The BBCs report (buried in the ‘Europe’ section) is extremely constrained in comparison to its approach for the certain other country*. The listings on Google News are a fraction of what they were for that certain other country*.

The only thing that’s coming over loud and clear is the hypocrisy.

Cultural Enrichment™ Alert – The BBC seems to think it’s some kind of quaint ethnic custom, but in a serious development today in arguably one of Britain’s most corrupt constituencies, yet more evidence is surfacing that electoral fraud (particularly that relating to postal votes) in Bangladeshi and Pakistani communities in Britain is becoming widespread; as this breaking story illustrates:

Scotland Yard has launched criminal investigations into four allegations of bogus voter registration. Bundles of fictitious names have been put on the electoral roll in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets in what looks like a blatant attempt to steal the elections.

It will raise concern in an area notorious for election fraud and where a last-minute flood of applications to vote mean that more than 5,000 have been accepted without any checks — enough to sway Thursday’s results.
The council tried to clean up the register. Officials visited any home with nine or more voters and removed 141 names from the roll. But a surge of 5,166 new registrations were received just before the deadline of April 20 and there was no time to check them. Alarm bells rang when parties were given lists of postal voters to help with electioneering.

At an address in Bethnal Green Road consisting of a ground-floor shop and an upstairs maisonette, eight Bengalis claimed a postal vote. However, when The Times called there this week there was only one occupant, Inge Reekmans a Belgian photographer. “You’re kidding,” she said when told about the registrations.

Showing The Times around her home, the only other occupant was her cat Kiki. “You can see, there are no Bengalis,” she said. In Goldman Close, there were 10 Bengali names for a house where Stephane Leyvraz, a Frenchman, lives with two Europeans. When The Times visited, there was no sign of “Tanzir Alam”, “Nurul Aman” or the others. A man came for the ballot papers on Monday.

Across Tower Hamlets in Bromley-by-Bow, 18 people apparently requested postal votes in a four-bedroom house where Ali Saleem, a Pakistani student, lives with four companions. Does he vote? “Not even in my own country,” he said. “I don’t like to vote.”

The Electoral Commission’s Code of Conduct for postal voting forbids campaigners from soliciting ballot papers. But Mahmodul Hasam Talukdar was asked for his by a party supporter. “He said ‘Vote for us and I will take it back to the post office’,” Mr Talukdar, 23, a student from Bangladesh, said. “Why should I? It’s my vote.”

Britain boasts one of the world’s freest and most transparent electoral systems. But is is being slowly and steadily undermined and abused, particularly by Muslim immigrant communities.

In 2007 the Joseph Rowntree Foundation, an independent organisation which promotes electoral reform and democratic rights, said:

“several cases [of electoral fraud] have involved proven instances of large-scale vote-rigging within British Pakistani and Bangladeshi communities. There is some anecdotal evidence to suggest that practices associated with traditional forms of Pakistani ‘clan politics’ have been a common factor in a significant minority of recent prosecutions for electoral fraud”

In Slough, Berkshire last year, Six British Pakistanis were jailed for postal vote abuse.

In an earlier case in Birmingham in 2005, local elections were voided and had to be re-run at a massive cost to the taxpayer, as several Pakistani candidates were found to be operating what was described as a ‘vote-rigging factory’.

The judge commented on government claims at the time that postal voting was working:

“Anybody who has sat through the case I have just tried and listened to evidence of electoral fraud that would disgrace a banana republic would find this statement surprising.”

But as we often say here at Un:dhimmi, it is unfair to transfer all the blame to the miscreants. Equally culpable are the enablers – and here it is once again the political class in the UK, who still maintain that the lax security arrangements in British elections (particularly those around postal voting) do not require reform.

It is clear that a workable alternative to postal voting has to be found, or locked-down arrangements to protect abuse of postal voting from Britain and abroad put in place; and that in-person voters should have to identify themselves to electoral offices, which, bizarrely, is not currently the case in Britain.

However, the ever Sharia-compliant BBC called it an ‘ethnic conflict’. Decide for yourself:

Dozens of bodies lined the dusty streets of three Christian villages in northern Nigeria yesterday. Other victims of Sunday morning’s Muslim rampage were jammed into a local morgue, the limbs of slaughtered children tangled in a grotesque mess.

One toddler appeared fixed in the protective but hopeless embrace of an older child, possibly his brother. Another had been scalped. Most had severed hands and feet.

Officials estimate that 500 people were massacred in night-time raids by Muslim gangs near Jos, the city that bestrides Nigeria’s Christian-Muslim fault line.

Local journalists and civil rights organisations who toured the area yesterday told The Times they had counted at least 200 victims shot and hacked to death in apparent revenge for sectarian violence in January that claimed about 300 lives from the two communities. Mark Lipdo, a co-ordinator for the Stefanos Foundation, a Christian aid group, confirmed at least 93 dead in one village. “But there are corpses charred beyond recognition,” he said.

Survivors claimed that Muslim inhabitants of the targeted villages of Zot, Dogo Nahawa and Rastat had received telephone calls two days before the attack telling them to leave the area.

Witnesses said gangs waited at main entry points to the villages while others went from house to house, setting the homes on fire.

Those who fled were killed at the exit points. Others were slaughtered after being caught in animal traps and nets as they ran in the dark.

Ben Kwashi, Anglican Archbishop of Jos, said he visited one of three villages engulfed by the violence. “I could see kids from age zero to teenagers, all butchered from the back, macheted in their necks, their heads. Deep cuts in the mouths of babies. The stench. People wailing and crying,” he said.

Nigeria’s Acting President Goodluck Jonathan, a southerner, ordered troops into the riot-affected area “to confront and defeat these roving bands of killers”, he said in a statement. Last night he sacked Sarki Mukhtar, the national security adviser, a powerful figure in the inner circle of the ailing President, Umaru Yar’Adua.

Villagers said army assistance came too late. Christian youths accused the military of complicity in the killings.

Graphic from the BBC's coverage of the massacre: notice how the Muslim case is emphasised, though it was Muslims who committed the atrocity

Survivors told The Times that entire families were killed, some to the chants of Allahu Akbar — God is Greatest. They said villagers awoke to shouting and gunfire at about 3am on Sunday.

“They then set homes on fire and attacked men, women and children. Many were decapitated,” said Theresa Malinowska, press officer for Christian Solidarity Worldwide. Staff counted the bodies of four babies and 28 children under 5 in one location alone.

Jos is the regional capital of Plateau State, where Christians from Nigeria’s south and Muslims from the north compete over the fertile farmland. The area has often been a flashpoint. In rioting in September 2001 1,000 people died and Muslim-Christian battles killed up to 700 people in 2004.

Jos has been under a dusk-until-dawn curfew since January’s violence. Archbishop Kwashi said he believed a significant organisation was behind the killings because they happened during curfew, with the army in the area.

“I think it is all Christians killed. The Muslims, I heard, had left the village. The kind of co-operation that came into play — that could violate a curfew, that could take the law into their own hand. I worry which village, which town, will be next,” he said.

The comments under this Times article are a microcosm of the current state of the debate about Islam. The multikulti, politically-correct leftist language police have left most people struggling for truthful words (for fear of public censure, or worse) to describe or pass comment on such incidents. We encounter such reactions as:

“..It’s the fault of all organised religion…” from the atheist/humanists

“..It’s a battle for resources between two communities…” from the denialists

“..This is nothing compared to the occupation of Palestine or Iraq..” from the lefties and Islamists

“..This is not true islam..” from the apologists and one-world multifaithers

It’s time to stop beating around the bush – this is the supremacist imperative of Islam at the pinnacle of its expression. This is Jihad.

Note: video is a Playlist and all three parts will play in sequence automatically

The proxy Jihad unrest over housing in East Jerusalem we touched on briefly last summer shows no signs of letting up. As the report below from today’s Jerusalem Post shows, tensions are still high; and riots and fighting are almost daily occurrences.

But what you probably don’t know is who’s pulling the strings. And, as the recent (and unsurprisingly completely slanted) video from the BBC’s Panorama programme above illustrates, it’s extremely unlikely you’d get to find out if you relied on the mainstream media:

The Shuafat refugee camp was the scene of renewed rioting on Tuesday, a day after clashes between young Palestinian residents and security forces in the sprawling east Jerusalem neighbourhood left four police officers and a border policeman lightly injured.

No injuries were reported by police on Tuesday afternoon. However, nine Palestinians were arrested for throwing rocks at security forces during the renewed clashes, bringing the total number of arrests in Shuafat over the past two days to 34.

The disturbances began on Monday afternoon when security forces entered the area to escort a group of municipality workers, including tax inspectors who were carrying out routine checks on businesses in the area.

Municipal workers routinely ask for police accompaniment when working in Palestinian neighbourhoods.

On Monday, they were met by groups of young Palestinian residents who began hurling rocks at them. The violence lasted into the night, and began again on Tuesday afternoon when local schools let out.

Of the officers wounded on Monday, one border policeman was taken to Hadassah Hospital with minor wounds, and the four other policemen were treated on the scene.

Security forces used rubber bullets and pepper spray to disperse the rioters, and on Tuesday, municipality workers had deployed inside of Shuafat to begin repairing some of the damage caused during the disturbances.

Meanwhile on Tuesday, a group of MKs from the Knesset’s Interior Committee toured the east Jerusalem neighbourhood of Sheikh Jarrah, where weekly protests over the eviction of Arab families from homes in the neighbourhood have continued to grow in size.

MK Michael Ben-Ari (National Union) told reporters during the tour that such protests were “a challenge to the state’s sovereignty over parts of Jerusalem,” and that the police presence in the neighbourhood should be beefed up.

“The time has come for quiet to be restored to the streets of this neighbourhood,” Ben-Ari said. “We have to take the necessary steps to ensure that residents do not suffer, and that anti-Semitic elements from Europe that pay for these activities are stopped totally.”

Ben-Ari’s Knesset aide, Itamar Ben-Gvir, told The Jerusalem Post that he was planning on asking for the establishment of a permanent police presence in the area, as many of the incidents that occur between Arabs and Jews in Sheikh Jarrah take place while police are away from the area, and often conclude before they are able to respond.

Former MK Benny Elon, who also took part in the tour, told the Post that he expected Internal Security Minister Yitzhak Aharonovitch to weigh in on the matter, and increase the police presence in the neighbourhood.

“We’re concerned with keeping the tomb [of Shimon Hatzaddik, which is located in the neighbourhood and frequented by thousands of visitors every month] safe and keeping the residents safe as well,” Elon said.

While the MKs’ visit did not spur on any violence, as past, similar tours have, Arab residents did greet the tour group to some heated words.

“You are thieves!” a group of women shouted at the MKs. “You are stealing houses that belong to the Palestinian people!”

While members of the Knesset entourage began responding in turn to the women, members of the police force accompanying the tour ensured that the situation did not escalate.

To examine the situation at at face value (and certainly after watching the BBCs shamefully-biased Panorama coverage - according to them, the history of Jerusalem appears to begin in 1948) – you would be forgiven for thinking that the situation is clear cut. Those evil Israelis are committing some kind of ‘religious cleansing’ operation – turfing out innocent Palestinian Arabs and stuffing the affected districts with Jews. It’s obvious – isn’t it?

A closer look, however, reveals other forces at work – agitating behind the scenes to foment unrest and violence; and to implicate the Israelis.

Far left organisations such as the Association for Civil Rights in Israel (ACRI) are stirring up opposition – Hagai El-Ada, director of ACRI was arrested after he was found among around 150 people rioting outside a recently-built Jewish home. But who’s behind this organisation? Who funds it?

Well, if you live in the EU, you might be a little startled to discover that.. you do. Click here to see the proof. This EU document reveals that the unelected mandarins are indirectly funding the intifada on your behalf, with millions of Euros in donations to ‘human rights and democracy groups’ that are also being made in your name.

They didn’t mention this in the Lisbon Treaty.

Surprised? There’s more. Take a look at the picture below – these women were released from custody this week after being arrested for overstaying their visas and being involved in violent anti-Israel protests in East Jerusalem. Do they look particularly Middle Eastern to you? No? That’s because they’re not.

Two ISM members - an Australian and a Spaniard - were released from custody this week after their involvement in 'violent protest'

In fact the women pictured are from Spain and Australia and are activists for an organisation called the ‘International Solidarity Movement’ – a terrorist-connected leftist front group, which lures students to ‘Palestine’ to agitate against Israeli interests.

Idealistic, wide-eyed Western teenagers are placed into often violent conflict zones to make propaganda for ISM paymasters – and as in the case of Briton Tom Hurndall and American Rachel Corrie, the consequences can prove deadly.

"Hey, let's play terrorists!" - ISM members play with guns while on a visit to a West Bank prison (really - you couldn't make this stuff up if you tried!) while a member of the al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade looks on

Not that that bothers the ISM too much, who continue their operations today. Neither does it appear to bother university administrators – they also remain active and high-profile on just about every university campus in the West.

So the next time you see TV images of protests and riots in Israel – we hope you’ll take pause and ask yourselves the questions the mainstream media almost never asks of itself:

Who stands to gain? Who’s behind it? Who’s funding it?

Share your thoughts with others – and encourage them to ask the same questions.

Meanwhile, the BBC manages the astonishing editorial feat of managing to produce the entire article without mentioning the word ‘Jew’ or Anti-Semitic’:

Booksellers touting their wares amid the heavy traffic in the Bangladeshi capital, Dhaka, have discovered an unusual best-seller.

Adolf Hitler’s autobiography manifesto Mein Kampf is selling as well as Dan Brown’s latest novel, The Lost Symbol.

The street vendors in Dhaka are found at every major road junction and intersection.

Most of the sellers are young boys and many compete with beggars to attract the attention of motorists.

Last week, Mein Kampf did unusually well because many bought the book to give it away as an Eid present.

‘All the rage’

Mabul, 15, is among many boys who risk the chaos of Dhaka’s roads to earn a living selling pirated copies of popular paperbacks.

Among his offerings are The Audacity of Hope by Barack Obama, the 9/11 Commission Report – Omissions and Distortions by David Ray Griffin, The God of Small Things by Arundhati Roy and copies of Mein Kampf (volumes one and two).

“For some reason Hitler’s book is all the rage among educated people – on a typical day I can sell as many as five or six,” Mabul told the BBC.

Hitler is not as popular as Dan Brown or Amartya Sen among Dhaka’s motorists and their passengers, but there is a constant demand for his book.

“I think it’s because many people have seen Hitler in films and want to know more about him.”

Mabul the Dhaka street bookseller with a copy of his 'wares'

Mabul earns up to 1,000 taka ($8) a day in his job, usually working eight hours a day for six days a week.

He says that the best time to sell books is when traffic is at its heaviest, in the morning and evening rush hours.

When it is gridlocked, some people appear to buy his books because they are bored and there is nothing else to do.

Career path

Nearly all the books Mabul sells are photocopies of books he has bought from dealers – and in some cases the photocopying is not of the highest quality.

The maps in his Lonely Planet guide to Bangladesh, for example, are difficult to read and of poor quality.

Yet despite the dubious legality of his career path, Mabul and his friend Aminul – who has the use of only one arm – typify the entrepreneurial spirit for which many Bangladeshis are renowned.

“If I didn’t do this job I would have no income – it’s as simple as that,” said Aminul, as he proffers a copy of Monica Ali’s latest novel.

“It’s not easy being disabled and selling books in a Dhaka traffic jam. Several times we come close to getting run over.”

There is little surprise in the news that a book by Adolf Hitler is a bestseller in Bangladesh, or any other Muslim country for that matter. Hitler is widely revered by Islamists for what he did to the Jewish people.

Arabic and other editions of the book continue to be published and sell well across the Muslim world (it can be found even in Arab districts here in London, if one looks hard enough and in the right places.

The remarkable thing about this article is the way in which the BBC presents the reader with a human interest story; weaving a subtle web of pathos and ironic humour to justify (and almost sympathise with) the open selling of this manual of Nazi genocide – the blueprint of the Führer und Reichskanzler’s Final Solution.

They present the dilemma of the disabled young innocent, who either sells books or starves; and suggested – without supporting evidence – that his clients, the rush hour drivers of Dhaka, were probably driven by little more than rush-hour ennui.

For the uninitiated, a couple of illustrative quotations:

“The Jews were responsible for bringing negroes into the Rhineland with the ultimate idea of bastardising the white race which they hate and thus lowering its cultural and political level so that the Jew might dominate.”

“The Jewish youth lies in wait for hours on end…spying on the unsuspicious German girl he plans to seduce…..he wants to contaminate her blood and remove her from the bosom of her own people. The Jew hates the white race and wants to lower its cultural level so that the Jews might dominate.”

– Adolf Hitler, ‘Mein Kampf’

The only potential crime alluded to in the article is the possibility that Mabul, the disabled young bookseller, may have been violating intellectual property laws by having copies of the books made up and photocopied.

The words Jew, Anti-Semitism and Holocaust are not even mentioned. All the more ironic, then, to learn that the direct Arabic translation of the work’s title is ‘My Jihad’.

Characteristically perhaps, the heavily pro-Islam BBC chose to omit this particularly salient point, too.

Incredible.

Four British-Pakistani Muslims have been charged with Islamic terror offences following raids reported here last week (but you wouldn’t know any of these relevant facts if you were to read the Manchester Evening News, or the BBC report of the same story):

Israr Malik, 21, of Fallowfield, Greater Manchester, is charged with intending to commit acts of terrorism.

Matthew Newton, 27, of Stalybridge, Munir Farooqi, 52, of Longsight, and Haris Farooqi, 26, of Levenshulme, are accused of intending to assist others to commit acts of terrorism.

Officers from the North West Counter Terrorism Unit detained the men in what was described as a ‘low key operation’ following a 15-month investigation into a plot to commit ‘violent jihad’.

Newton was reported to have previously run a clothing business with the son of the former Celebrity Big Brother winner Bez of the Happy Mondays band.

All four are due to appear at City of Westminster Magistrates’ Court in London today.

Munir Farooqi, who is the father of Haris Farooqi, was also charged with three counts of soliciting or encouraging another to murder on three separate dates.

Muslim cleric Shaykh Asif Hussain Farooqui, from Bolton, was yesterday released without charge and thanked those who had called for his freedom.

Up to 2,000 people signed online petitions which called for the release of the scholar who is a member of the Al Rahman Mosque in Daubhill.

Campaigners expressed their ‘outrage’ [the usual Vicitmology reflex - Ed.] that the ‘well-respected figure’ in the Muslim community in Bolton had been detained. Some protested outside Greater Manchester Police’s headquarters hours before he was released.

Shaykh Farooqui, who is not related to any of the charged men, was arrested at his home in Deane.

In a statement, he thanked his legal team, police custody staff – who he said respected his religion – and those who prayed and fasted for his ’speedy release’.

He added: ‘I also extend my heartfelt gratitude to all those individuals who have signed petitions, organisations who have written letters and politicians who have shown unwavering support.

‘Regarding the matter for which I have been arrested, I have from the very outset – from my arrest to the conclusion of my detention – maintained my innocence.

‘I understand the need for the police to maintain law and order, and protect us all.

‘However, I am a man of peace. All who know me, and know of me, know this to be true. I encourage people to follow the teachings of Islam and devote their lives to the remembrance of the Creator, to become good Muslims and law-abiding citizens of this country. This time in detention I believe has been a great lesson to us all.

‘I am anxious to return to my family and congregation and would be grateful if my privacy could be respected.’

His solicitor, Nasir Hafezi, said: ‘Shaykh Asif Hussain Farooqui is a man of immaculate good character and is held in the highest esteem within the Muslim community.

‘While in detention the Shaykh continued persistently to maintain his complete innocence with regard to the unfounded allegations of terrorism against him.

He is obviously relieved to be released from police custody and while he was treated well by the custody staff it is clear to anyone who knows, loves and respects the Shaykh that he should never have been arrested in the first place.

‘There is a message for our society as a whole that when the police so fundamentally fail to consider all of the available information, which is often easily accessible, then anyone, irrespective of their religion or standing in the community, can be arrested and detained for lengthy periods under the terror laws.’

Interesting to note that the BBC’s version of this nationally-important story is hidden away in a local Manchester news section and the words ‘violent Jihad’, from the actual charge, are inexplicably absent.

What’s even more intruiging is that the story appears at the time of writing to be completely missing from the website of the area’s leading newspaper, the ultra-liberal Guardian subsidiary Manchester Evening News. However, it does appear on that of their special ‘Asian’ susidiary, ‘The Asian News’.

Little wonder, then, that the majority of Britons have no idea of the extent of the home-grown Jihad threat levelled against them.

Note – video is a Playlist and all six parts will play in sequence automatically

UPDATE: 23/10/09 – First poll since Griffin’s appearance on Question Time indicates that more than one in five Britons would be prepared to vote BNP. Over 3000 people applied online to join the party after the show. The Telegraph has more.

The British Establishment proves that you don’t need to be the Burmese Junta to attempt to close down a political party:

We don’t normally cover domestic mainstream politics here at Un:dhimmi – our interests lie in exposing the Islamisation of the developed world and its proponents – but we felt that we had to comment on the British Establishment’s show trial of the British National Party and its leader Nick Griffin this week, culminating in his appearance on a major British political debate show last night.

For those unfamiliar (particularly as a large proportion of this site’s readers are from overseas), the BNP is a party that supports the indigenous British people. It has a murky past and its former (and some current) members have been associated with some nasty, racist groups.

To be fair (we do not support the BNP here at Undhimmi), under Griffin’s leadership progress has been made in shifting the emphasis away from the racism and onto the protection of the interests of ‘native’ Brits – particularly the marginalised white working class, who have suffered most under the multicultural, immigration-led politics of the mainstream over the last four decades.

Whatever people may think of Griffin, that he is an effective and successful leader is unarguable. No skinhead thug, he is in fact a Cambridge Law graduate. He comes across as an affable and approachable figurehead who speaks well.

He has tackled the party’s financial problems, increased membership dramatically and brought in modern management techniques to his party; including an interactive and multimedia-driven website that is the most viewed political site in Britain; massively beating those of any of the mainstream parties.

A recent sample from, Alexa, widely viewed as the authoritative web traffic analysis source, showed in terms of the audience rankings, the BNP ranked at the 57,555th most popular site (if you click on the link you will see that this has improved significantly since that sample), with the mainstream parties languishing well into six-figure territory.

“I wonder whether we see a different programme from the one that’s being watched out in the country? The danger tonight was that the British people, famous for their fair-mindedness, saw one man being beaten up by five other people on the panel, including the presenter, and by an audience that was overwhelmingly hostile to him.”

- Political TV show host Andrew Neil

It also runs its own mail and distribution centres and uses the latest direct mail and telemarketing techniques to aid member recruitment, communications and fund raising. Make no mistake, this is a slick, professionalised organisation.

This year’s European Elections marked a major turning point for the BNP, with Griffin and a deputy winning two seats in large Northern English constituencies for the European Parliament – on the back of almost a million votes.

In the low-turnout world of European democracy, this was a massive feat and showed in sharp relief to the other parties just how popular the BNP were becoming.

It was this moment we believe, that galvanised the British establishment into action to try and destroy the BNP by whatever means were at its disposal.

In September The BBC announced that the party would be invited to appear on Question Time, a popular weekly current affairs panel show filmed before a live audience in various locations up and down the country.

Also in the news was the prosecution of the BNP by the race relations quango, the Equalities Commission. Instead of promoting racial harmony, this government funded NGO has been waging legal warfare against the BNP at the taxpayers’ expense – and has recently won a case that could financially cripple it. It has, since this ruling, had to close its membership list while it works out a response.

Effectively the British government is trying to asphyxiate a rival party, using a plausible deniability proxy and spurious litigation.

In the week running up to the Question Time debate, news of the upcoming show was given massive media airtime. Every pundit known to man was wheeled onto various news shows to denounce Griffin.

As the week progressed, details leaked of his would-be inquisitors on the show’s panel were leaked – it was announced that Bonnie Greer, deputy Chair of the British Museum and a black activist, would be sitting beside him (the show always includes a non-politician, usually a celebrity, on the panel).

Senior political figures (more so than would appear on a regular edition) were lined up to face him: Jack Straw, the Justice Minister – whose constituency is a large heavily Islamised industrial town in Northern England, Sayeeda Warsi ditto constituency-wise and the Conservative opposition’s ‘Minister for Community Cohesion and Social Action’ – whatever that means.

A prominent Muslim, she has been widely criticised by the gay community for homophobic remarks. The panel was completed by Chris Huhne, a member of the Liberal Democrat Shadow Cabinet.

On the day of the show, large protests occurred outside the BBC Television Centre in West London, the UAF (Unite Against Fascism, a thuggish, anti-Israel far-left protest group with strong links to the mainstream political parties), breached BBC security and had to be led of the premises by police. At least six members of the UAF were arrested and three police officers injured.

The show itself was little different. Instead of the usual cross-section (although even normally, it has a left-wing, public-sector bias), last night’s audience was noticeably metropolitan, young, middle class and massively hostile – they had clearly been carefully selected.

The moderator David Dimbleby, ostensibly a distinguished journalist and presenter – could barely disguise his hostility. Rather than controlling the debate, he himself harangued Griffin several times and constantly interrupted or talked over him; while allowing others to speak unchallenged.

Not one of the politicians was brought to heel for their failure to satisfactorily answer criticism – especially Jack Straw, who ducked questions about his role in the Iraq War and his shameless facilitation and promotion of massive (and particularly Muslim) immigration into Britain.

Griffin’s performance itself was poor – he lacked confidence (he’s not often invited on TV), was unprepared and nervous – but then again, who wouldn’t have been in the face of such a stage-managed onslaught?

It was little short of a lynching.

What we have witnessed this past week (and culminating with Question Time kangaroo court) has been nothing less than a stage-managed state show trial.

Watch the video – the entire show is at the top of this article.

From the BBC bias and open hostility of Dimbleby to the UAF made-to-order rabble and the carefully hand-picked age, class and politics-profiled audience, the show was a set-up.

He shouldn’t worry, though. We would say – any further legal dirty-tricks by the Establishment to shut the BNP down notwithstanding – that he has probably doubled his voter base this week.

Why? because the hand-picked, metropolitan multikulti audience was so clearly unrepresentative of Britain as a whole, because mainstream British politics truly has alienated a large section of native Brits, because Griffin was allowed to be cast as the underdog; and because the whole circus was just so in-your-face obvious.

This story is not over by any means.

There is evidence that both Israeli and Palestinian forces committed war crimes in the recent conflict in Gaza, a long-awaited official UN report says.

It accuses Israel of deliberately using “disproportionate force” in the three-week operation in December and January.

The report also condemned rocket attacks by Palestinian groups which Israel says sparked its offensive.

Palestinians and human rights groups say more than 1,400 Gazans were killed, but Israel puts the figure at 1,166.

Three Israeli civilians and 10 Israeli soldiers were also killed.

Israel, which had refused to co-operate with the UN fact-finding team, said the report was “clearly one-sided”.

The military operation was a result of disrespect for the fundamental principle of ‘distinction’ in international humanitarian law

The investigation, led by South African judge Richard Goldstone, found evidence “indicating serious violations of international human rights and humanitarian law were committed by Israel during the Gaza conflict”, a UN statement said.

Israel also “committed actions amounting to war crimes, and possibly crimes against humanity”.

The Israeli operations, the document states, “were carefully planned in all their phases as a deliberately disproportionate attack designed to punish, humiliate and terrorise a civilian population”.

Civilian targets

The report accuses Israel of imposing “a blockade which amounted to collective punishment” in the lead-up to the conflict.

It says “the Israeli military operation was directed at the people of Gaza as a whole”.

If this report is to matter, it will be for a number of reasons. One is its length. There have been a slew of reports into the war in Gaza. This is the lengthiest, weighing in at 575 pages.

There is the man who wrote it: Richard Goldstone is a judge and judicial investigator with an impressive record. The UN Human Rights Council, for whom he wrote this, is also no longer a body which is quite as easy for Israel to dismiss as a congenitally biased. The US has recently run for, and been elected to a seat on its council.

Mr Goldstone has also shown a measure of political astuteness. This is not the first time that Israel, or Palestinian militants, have been accused of war crimes – and in Israel’s case, crimes against humanity as well. But previous allegations have quickly begun to moulder on the shelf.

Mr Goldstone recommended that the Security Council require Israel, and the Gaza authorities, to report in six months about its own investigations into the alleged crimes. If they did not come up to scratch, then the International Criminal Court should become involved. Who, said Judge Goldstone, could object to that?

The reports says Israel must be held accountable for its actions during the war, a process which could lead to the conflict being referred to the International Criminal Court.

The report found there was also evidence that Palestinian groups had committed war crimes, and possibly crimes against humanity, in their repeated rockets and mortars attacks on Israel.

It says the launching of rockets which “cannot be aimed with precision at military targets” breaches the fundamental principle of sparing civilian lives.

“Where there is no intended military target and the rockets and mortars are launched into civilian areas, they constitute a deliberate attack against the civilian population,” it said.

It also calls for the immediate release of Gilad Shalit, the Israeli soldier seized in a Palestinian raid in 2006 and taken to Gaza.

Both the Israeli and Palestinian authorities are criticised for the treatment of their own civilians during the conflict.

Israel’s interrogation of political activists and repression of criticism of its activities had “contributed significantly to a political climate in which dissent was not tolerated”, it said.

Meanwhile, the alleged “arbitrary arrests” and “extra-judicial executions” of Palestinians by the authorities in both Gaza and the West Bank were also criticised.

‘No mandate’

Israeli government spokesman Mark Regev told the BBC the report had been “born in sin” and had no mandate for its investigation.

The authorities in Gaza and the West Bank did co-operate with the UN mission, but Hamas, which controls the Gaza Strip, has also dismissed the report as “political, unbalanced and dishonest”.

Israel said the conflict was to end rockets attacks from Gaza

Ismael Radwan, a senior Hamas official in Gaza, was quoted by AFP news agency as saying it “puts on the same level those who perpetrate crimes and those who resist”.

Mr Goldstone rejected such allegations, and told the BBC that “fair minded people” should read the report and “at the end of it, point out where it failed to be objective or even-handed”.

The 574-page document recommends that authorities in both Israel and Gaza be required to investigate the allegations and report to the UN Security Council within six months.

The Israeli military insists troops acted lawfully during the conflict.

The government says it has carried out more than 100 investigations into allegations of abuses by its forces – most were dismissed as “baseless” but 23 criminal investigations are still pending.

It reiterated that it was “committed to acting fully in accordance with international law and to examining any allegations of wrongdoing by its forces”.

The full report – which is based on 188 interviews, more than 10,000 pages of documentation and 1,200 photographs and other material – will be presented to the UN Human Rights Council at the end of this month.

Eight months after the conflict, very little reconstruction has taken place in Gaza because of the strict Israeli-imposed blockade which bans all but essential supplies from entering the enclave.

The stated aim of the blockade is to weaken Hamas’s leadership but aid agencies say it serves only to punish the civilian population.

First of all, let’s take a look at Tim Franks’ ‘analysis’:

Why should a report ‘matter’ simply because it is 575 pages long? The phone book in my home is longer than that – but no-one reads it

Mr. Goldstone may have an ‘impressive record’ – but this counts for nothing if the report he attaches his good name to was commissioned (and its terms of reference framed) by one of the most racist, anti-Semitic groups in existence – the UN Human Rights Council. We won’t go into the provenance of this disgraceful, vehemently anti-Israel cabal here – City Journal has a superb primer written by Michael Weiss and Ibn Warraq, which you can read at your leisure.

Whilst we cautiously welcome the election of the US to a seat at the UNHRC (although this welcome would had been far more hearty had the representative been someone of the calibre of John Bolton and not some Obama flunky), any involvement by America is unlikely to be significant in this case, due to its post facto timing. But why is Franks even bringing it up in this context? It’s as if he’s saying that Israel has hitherto been using its wholly-justifiable criticism of the UNHRC as an excuse; and now that America has a place at the table the reasons for this criticism will somehow evaporate – the recalcitrant child of Israel will be called to account by the righteous Obama administration. Ridiculous whimsy (or wish fulfillment, perhaps?) which betrays a lack of understanding of the politics involved, not to mention personal bias.

Just what does Franks suppose will happen if Goldstone refers the matter to the ICC? Israel is neither a signatory to the ICC Treaty, nor a member state. Furthermore, the matter falls cleanly outside the ICC’s territorial jurisdiction under its own rules.

The Goldstone report is, we believe, what in legal circles is known as ‘fruit of the poison tree’. No matter what the integrity of Judge Goldstone and his team, the report was commissioned by a corrupt and racist organisation and informed by vehemently anti-Israel ‘Human Rights’ bodies (who seem to be more interested in the rights of some humans than others).

In other words, as the sources of the information used in the report are tainted, no amount of legitimacy purportedly brought by Goldstone’s involvement can make this report anything more than just another smear – another blood libel – against Israel.

The so-called ‘war crimes’ committed by Israel in defending herself against the murderous thugs of Hamas included the fact that civilian collateral damage was caused.

This is hardly surprising when Hamas use schools (UN-funded schools at that) as mortar and rocket-launching bases, whilst civilians and children are in the buildings.

Who is the war criminal here? Israel, for neutralising the source of the attack (and it’s worth pointing out here that the IDF usually carries out massive leaflet-dropping operations prior to such defensive actions) – or the Hamas murderers who force human shields to remain in place and then cite any consequent deaths or injuries as evidence of ‘Israeli aggression’?

There is a massive, unexplained blind spot exhibited by the Human Rights NGOs and the UN when it comes to this practice – and this moves from the sublime to the ridiculous when they then go on to ascribe the inevitable resulting ‘war crimes’ to Israel.

In the strange world of the UNHRC – The aggressors are the victims and the perpetrators are the innocent. This distortion becomes even more surreal when you discover that the Goldstone Report counts Hamas operatives and known terrorists in the numbers for civilian casualties.

In summary, this report can have no credibility whatsoever, born as it was out of pre-existing bias and hatred against Israel and the Alice-in-Wonderland logic of the Islamic-controlled UNHRC – an organisation that has been critisised even by the leader of the UN himself for bias against Israel (Tim Franks helpfully omits this fact, presumably in an attempt to streamline his article).

It provides yet more damning evidence of the increasing irrelevance of the United Nations in the modern world.
