Palestinians in Gaza have acquired anti-aircraft and anti-tank rockets from Libya during its six-month civil war, enlarging but not significantly improving their arsenal, Israeli officials said on Monday.

While the rebellion against Muammar Gadhafi has stirred concern abroad about the fate of Libya’s ageing chemical weapons stockpiles, Israel has no indication Hamas or other Palestinian factions have sought these, the officials said.

Instead, Israeli officials have detected an inflow of SA-7 anti-aircraft missiles and rocket-propelled grenades (RPGs), said one official, describing an overland supply route that opened up between eastern Libya – after it fell to the rebels – and the Gaza Strip via Egypt. Mubarek Ali, one of the nine accused in the Telford Muslim sexual grooming trial

Some good news from the battle lines, for a change:

Nine Telford men alleged to have been involved in sexual exploitation and child prostitution are to face a series of fresh trials.

The men, arrested in connection with the police investigation, Operation Chalice, appeared at Shrewsbury Crown Court [in the English Midlands - Ed.] today.

They had been ordered to appear before the court after the collapse of an earlier trial at Stafford on legal grounds.

Mrs Deborah Gould, prosecuting, told the court that the defendants in the case would now face a series of separate trials.

The defendants include Mubarek Ali, 28, of Regent Street, Wellington; Ahdel Ali, 23, of Regent Street, Wellington; Mohammed Sultan, 24, of Victoria Avenue, Wellington; Tanveer Ahmed, 39, of Urban Gardens, Wellington; Marhoof Khan, 33, of Caradoc Flats, Wellington; Noshad Hussain, 21, of Regent Street, Wellington; Mohammed Choudry, 52, of Solway Drive, Sutton Hill, Telford; Mohammed Yunis, 59, of Kingsland, Arleston; and Abdul Rouf, 33, of Kingsland, Arleston.

The BBC could be part of a ‘propaganda media network’ for al-Qaeda, according to U.S. files published by Wikileaks.

A phone number of someone at the BBC was found in phone books and programmed into the mobile phones of a number of militants seized by the Americans. The number is believed to be based at Bush House, the headquarters of the BBC World Service.

The assessment on one of the detainees at the Guantanamo camp, dated 21 April 2007, said: ‘The London, United Kingdom, phone number 0044 207 *** **** was discovered in numerous seized phone books and phones associated with extremist-linked individuals. Read the rest of this entry »

Dehumanise and delegitimise the Israelis and present Palestinians as eternal victims - This Is What We Do.

Once again, the British Broadcasting Corporation is caught out and called out, for shilling for the Palestinans whilst demonising Israel:

“Finding a route to peace in [Jerusalem] is not exactly a walk in the park,” says Jeremy Vine in a play on words to introduce the January 18th segment of BBC’s “Panorama,” entitled “A Walk in the Park.” The segment presents alleged attempts by Israeli Jews to “change the demographics of East Jerusalem” and the title refers to the green areas being developed to link communities around Jerusalem.

But viewers learn far less about the difficulty of “finding a route to peace” in Jerusalem than they do about the difficulty of finding objective information on the BBC. Read the rest of this entry »

A warm welcome to a new and very brave kid on the block – British Muslims for Israel. As I have often said, where someone stands on Israel is for me the litmus test of whether they are a decent and rational human being or pose a threat not merely to Jewish interests but to civilised values. Unfortunately, even among those many Muslims who are opposed to the jihad and support western democracy, animosity towards Israel often runs horrifyingly deep. Any Muslim who speaks up in defence of Israel runs significant personal risks. So those behind British Muslims for Israel, which has emerged from the Institute for Middle Eastern Democracy, merit a huge amount of praise and support. They also offer a ray of hope for the future. They show that there are Muslims who pass that key civilisational litmus test with flying colours.

It is not before time that a voice of reason from the Muslim community was heard – particularly in Britain – which is fast gaining a reputation as an anti-Semite’s paradise.

The cacophany of uninformed and biased, agenda-driven noise (for that it what it is), emanating from the British media and the Islamo-Left coalition – who are dedicated to dehumanising Israelis and falsely presenting the ‘Palestinians’ as perpetual victims – goes virtually unchallenged in here the Britain and the West.

Israel, either through exasperation or sheer inabilty to get a fair hearing, sometimes appears to have given up fighting her own corner. We hope that this story helps stimulate a renewal of the will to defend with pride the Middle East’s only Western-standards, rights-based democracy.
