Iran has agreed to fund a new multi-million-dollar military base on the Syrian coast to make it easier to ship weapons and other military hardware between the two countries, according to Western intelligence reports.

Under the terms of the deal, which was concluded after a high-level Syrian delegation visited Tehran, Iran is to assist with the development of a new military compound at Latakia airport which will be completed by the end of next year. The aim of the agreement is to open a supply route that will enable Iran to transfer military hardware directly to Syria.

Western security officials say the deal was agreed following a visit to Tehran in June by Muhammad Nasif Kheirbek, Syria’s deputy vice-president for security affairs and an ally of President Bashar al-Assad.

Iran and Syria have enjoyed a close strategic alliance for decades, founded on their mutual antipathy towards the West. Read the rest of this entry »

Holocaust survivor Edward Fisch, 78, shows the graffiti written by anti-semites on the wall of the synagogue he attends in Bayview Avenue, Toronto

Anti-Semitic graffiti spray-painted on a Toronto synagogue Thursday has brought back painful memories for at least one Holocaust survivor.

“It’s a terrible thing to see,” said Edward Fisch, standing outside Beth Tikvah Synagogue on Bayview Ave., north of Sheppard Ave. E. Friday morning. “When I see a swastika I see the Nazis coming, grabbing people and throwing them into the Danube.”

The words “Islam will rule” were scrawled on a brick wall of the Toronto synagogue in black paint beneath a red and black swastika.

Similar stencilled red and black swastikas have been reported in two other locations in Toronto this month, said Anita Bromberg, the national director of legal affairs for B’nai Brith Canada.

It’s a desparate shame to say it – because we truly love Canada here @ Un:dhimmi – but tragically, the old Dominion has, over the last decade or two, morphed into a peevish, authoritarian gulag that appears to delight in prosecuting summarily those of its citizens who have the audacity to criticise Islam – or anything else deemed ‘inappropriate’, for that matter. And now they reap the whirlwind.

Expect, as has has happened in Sweden under similar circumstances recently, an increase in Jews making Aliyah soonest.

At least four masked gunmen attacked the station, near the town of Al-Arish, about 30 miles west of the Israeli border, in the early hours of Tuesday. The attackers ordered the guards on duty to leave and then blew up the terminal, starting a fire that could seen from 12 miles away,

There were no reported casualties. It was the fourth attack on facilities supplying Egyptian gas to Israel this year.
Egypt’s gas transport company, Gasco, a subsidiary of the national gas company EGAS, had been finalising repairs on a pipeline that supplies gas to Israel and Egypt, and was expected to complete the work over the weekend. Read the rest of this entry »

Israel’s tense relations with Egypt were strained further recently, after Egyptian border guards stationed at the Taba Border detained vehicles transporting kosher food to the Israeli diplomatic staff stationed at the Cairo embassy, Ynet learned Sunday.

The vehicles underwent an extensive security check, which included stripping them from their cargo, before they were allowed to cross into Egypt.

In the past, Israeli vehicles carrying food transports were allowed through the Taba crossing immediately, since as diplomatic vehicles, they enjoy diplomatic immunity.

Jerusalem was irked by the act, calling it a violation of diplomatic protocol.

Israeli Ambassador to Egypt Yitzhak Levanon filed an official complaint with Cairo’s Foreign Ministry.

Ynet learned that Jerusalem is now considering demanding an official explanation from the Egyptian ambassador; although given the sensitive nature of the relations between the two countries, the move may be shelved.

It always starts with the small, low level incidents – but the ultimate course of events are becoming ever-clearer, in the so-called Arab Spring countries.

As in Tunisia, where hundreds of protesters have been demonstrating not for more political freedoms, but for the naming and shaming of politicians wishing to normalise relations with Israel, one of the main ‘benefits’ of this so-called Arab-renaissance seems to be a marked uptick in Jew baiting and anti-Israel activities.

How typical of Islamists to prefer an increase in hatred and anti-Semitism to those in GDP, living standards, peace and the wellbeing of its populations, as they attempt to shrug off the yoke of abusive dictatorships.

Target Israel: Muslim terrorists from al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade are using public-domain tools such as Google Earth to pinpoint targets for missile attacks

Gaza terrorists have a new tool helping them to fire on innocent civilians living in southern Israel – the popular satellite mapping program Google Earth. A group of terrorists from the Al-Aksa Martyrs’ Brigades recently described their use of the program to a reporter for Slate Magazine.

“The technology is always improving,” a terrorist calling himself Abu Saif told journalist Sharon Weinberger. “Our struggle started with the Kalashnikov, and then it moved to the suicide bomb, then the locally made rocket, and now the Grad rocket.”

Gaza terrorists in rocket launching crews use Google Earth to aim their weapons, Abu Said said. The program is seen as superior to maps because it is more up-to-date and gives precise locations for potential targets. Read the rest of this entry »
