Coincidence? We don't think so: Osama bin Laden was hiding only a few hundred metres from an élite Pakistani military training academy
And why that figures:
When Osama bin Laden was tracked down, it was not in a cave in the wilds of Afghanistan, but in an apparently comfortable mansion only a few hundred yards from the military academy known as Pakistan’s Sandhurst.
His compound, hidden behind high security walls, was within a mile of the Pakistan Military Academy in the garrison town of Abbottabad, according to local reports.
Abbottabad is in the Hazara district of Pakistan’s North-Western Frontier Province – renamed last year as Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa province – less than 50 miles north of capital Islamabad. Read the rest of this entry »
Buh-Bye Now: Osama Bin Laden Won’t Be Down For Breakfast
Osama bin Laden, leader of al-Qaeda, mastermind of the September 11th terrorist attacks and the world’s most wanted man for almost a decade is dead, President Barack Obama has announced.
Al-Qaeda founder and leader Osama Bin Laden has been killed by US forces, President Barack Obama has said.
The al-Qaeda leader was killed in a ground operation based on US intelligence, the first lead for which emerged last August.
