An Object Lesson in Anti-Israel Media Bias by the BBC
This is how they do it at Broadcasting House:
It appears the BBC can’t even wait for the proposed settlement freeze in Judea and Samaria (the so-called ‘West Bank’) to be lifted, before characteristically putting the boot in to the Israelis. Take a look at the screen grab from their website’s top international news story; captured earlier today:
The BBC reported (in both the headline and the body of the report) that Israeli Prime Minister had called upon ‘Jewish settlers’ to show restraint.
Only he didn’t say that – not at all. And the fact that he didn’t say that is plain to see in a subsequent paragraph:
He actually called on “the residents of Judea and Samaria and all political players to display restraint and responsibility today and further along the way, exactly as they displayed restraint and responsibility during the 10 months when construction was suspended.”
The population of Judea and Samaria consists of both Arabs and Jews, so at what point does Netanyahu specify that his plea is aimed only at the Jews?
The BBC appear to have ‘extemporised’ here – in a way that corresponds to its well-established left-of centre, anti-Israel bias. The result of course, is to make it appear as if the Jews are the problem.
Some Judea & Samaria Arabs made clear their interpretation of ‘restraint and responsibility’ a few weeks ago, when they slaughtered five people in a car (one of the four occupants was pregnant), in Hebron, on the eve of the first round of the recent peace talks in Washington:
Yet not a word on that in this story. As they say over at one of our favourite websites: ‘Bias. It’s as easy as B-B-C.’
