Turkish Car Crash Victim Abandoned in Hospital During Ramadan ‘Fast Break’
An unfortunate but prosaic situation – yet at the same time, a highly symbolic reminder of EU Candidate Turkey’s recent slide into Islamism:
It seems that these days, everything stops for Allah:
The Turkish Health Ministry has launched an investigation after a patient waited at the door of an X-ray service in a hospital, which was closed for half an hour at the time for fast-breaking.
Mustafa Mor’s car went off the road and crashed into a tree in the Nizip district of the southern province of Gaziantep. Bekir Karabacak, a passerby, took him and his cousin, who has the same name and was a passenger in the vehicle, to the Nizip Public Hospital. The doctors thought that the passenger Mor might have had a broken leg and sent him to the X-ray service.
The health care personnel took Mor on a stretcher to the X-ray service, where they found a note that said, “I am having dinner, I am about to return,” hanging on the door. Karabacak, who had taken him to the hospital, said: “We are also fasting. Should this place be closed? There is an injured man here, and this is a hospital.” After Mor waited half an hour, the staff returned from dinner.
Cengiz Öztop, the chief physician of Nizip Public Hospital, claimed that there was no neglect in the situation.
“In the X-ray service, there is equipment that costs millions of dollars. So we cannot leave the door open. Because the accident occurred during dinnertime, the accident victim had a little trouble.”
Meanwhile, search and rescue teams including 200 people who were working on the beaches of the western province of Kocaeli have stopped working due to Ramadan. Vacationers have criticized the decision and said that people swam in the area unperturbedly thanks to the rescue teams. According to the vacationers, the shores will be full of people until the schools start.
Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality officers said that they would review the decision once again.
About eight or nine years ago, I had a fairly minor accident whilst visiting Turkish friends in Istanbul and received prompt, highly professional and courteous attention by both the ambulance crew (including a then-rare hijab-wearing doctor); and in hospital. But at that time I was in was a fiercely secular country.
This story only serves to underline Turkey’s rapid descent into Islamism under the auspices of the AK Party. What if this man had been critical? What if he had died on the trolley?
Are these the values of an EU member state? David Cameron and Barack Obama appear to think so.

True muslims know that a man only dies when allah wants him to die and only lives when allah wants him to live.
A true muslim will tell you that, should they fail to do their religious mumbo-jumbo at the right time and place, allah would have let this man die. Insh’allah.
Listen to the men in pakistan: allah sent the flood, the Americans/Europeans/Jews/Kuffars should send the relief – now.
I heard one man moaning that he had had to wait a whole day before they sent a helicopter to lift him to safety in a relief hospital. Is this because he was unaware of the extent of the flood? Or because he thinks the infidels should jump when a muslim shouts? Hard to tell.
Meanwhile the taliban are saying it is kuffar medicine and kuffar food and should be refused.
The mixup of religion and what they really believe is complicated.
Then lets leave the Muslims to their own devices and keep them out of our secular nations – everywhere they go they bring nothing but trouble – they contribute nothing to any society they infect. Just look at all Muslim-run countries – they are 7th century backwards slums filled with poverty and despair.
M Rob, and the a***lifters blame the Americans for their misfortune when its really all allah’s fault.
It’s Ramadama-Ding-Dong stupid! You would have a X-Ray tech, weakened with hunger, try to perform his duty in such a self-imposed, shameful state? Let him regain his dignity and strength with a hearty meal. The result will be worth the wait.
What’s that greeting? Allah’s Snackbar? Says it all.
