UK’s Largest Supermarket Chain Launches Halal Meat Counters

Don't be shy - news of Halal counter launch curiously absent from supermarket giant Tesco's media site

Corporate greed meets multiculturalist pandering – you lose. More creeping Islamisation that will doubtlessly be ignored by the mainstream media:

Staff and local dignitaries celebrated the official launch of the Halal meat counter in Tesco’s [Birmingham] Hodge Hill store.

The counter, which is a National Halal Food Group concession within the store, was officially opened today (9 April 2010), with a blessing given by local Imam, Sheikh Siddique.

The store, which opened in December and created 250 new jobs, stocks a range of Halal products which are popular with many shoppers.

Store manager Emma Grant, said: “Demand in the store for Halal products is high and customers are delighted with the quality of the foods they can find here. The launch of the new counter means greater local choice and convenience for new and existing customers.”

This is the second Halal Meat Counter that the Birmingham-based National Halal Food Group has opened for Tesco customers within the region. Chief Executive Muhammed Yaquoob, said: “The launch of the counter in Hodge Hill means that customers can readily obtain a range of high quality meats which meet specific spiritual requirements.

Various local dignitaries and Muslim officials gathered for the launch...

... but unless you're a store patron or in the trade Tesco doesn't want you to know about it

“We are delighted to be able to work with Tesco to bring our products to the marketplace and feel confident that every shopper will find something they enjoy here.”

Tony Fletcher, corporate affairs manager for Tesco, also attended the official blessing. He commented: “Today marks the continuation of the special partnership between ourselves and National Halal in Birmingham . The new counter at Hodge Hill underlines our commitment to providing our customers with quality products that meet their needs at reasonable prices that they have come to expect from us.”

It’s particularly telling that, given the state of the British public’s increasingly hostile attitudes towards the growing Islamisation and enforcement of ever-more-illiberal, politically-correct policies, Tesco’s corporate website appears to have placed a virtual media blackout on this announcement – apart, it seems, from selected local and trade press.

Just like the BBC, just like the government and just like the political élite – if big businesses don’t think you’ll like a particular piece of news – they simply don’t tell you about it.

If you’d like to know more about the business of ritual Muslim slaughter, you can view a video here. WARNING – it contains extremely disturbing and upsettting images of animal suffering (the video’s commentary is in French, but you’ll get the idea). Please do not show to children.

Can I find a bacon sarnie in a muslim country? ‘NO’, and why not? ‘Cos they dont give a monkey’s about our culture but it seems we always have to bend over to please those over here..

Goodbye, Tesco – I for one wont shop in your stores again. Traitors!

Spot on Chris, I for one echo and endorse your sentiments and proposed actions.
Let us put a stop to this creeping virus of Islam, If we do not God help our grandchildren.

I am totally disgusted with Tesco selling Halal meat. By doing so they are agreeing to animals being killed inhumainly. I shop very often in Tesco, but i can asure you i will never set foot in Tesco again.
    Goodbye Tesco

How can you brits stand this kind of pandering? I feel so sorry to see the mighty Britain become a Muslim country after all.

Don’t shop the traitor’s stores and go out of you way to let them know about it. You need a chain to commit to not going halal and then frequent it so that people see that it is good business to support the anglo-saxon BRIT.

I work in a largely muslim country, what really pi**es me off, when I buy some pork product, even when it’s in a tin, the muslim staff put on a plastic gloves to handle the pruduct.
What would happen if Tesco employees would do the same with halal products? Most likely bombing of embassies, attack on christians and burning a few churches.

Long live multiculti, PC and liberals running amok. If Queen Victoria could see this.

  • I’m not happy about this I dont shop anywhere which does halal. If I see a halal counter in my local Tesco then the manager will be in for a severe public dressing down. Halal is animal torture its that simple, watch ‘Meet your Meat’ by [using the link at the end of the post -Ed].

This story needs to be spread to a wider audience so people know Tesco support this vile and criminal act. It does seem as if islam is above the law, because this practice is against animal cruelty laws in Britain. I suppose we should realise by now that appeasement is preferable to enforcement just in case we upset them, as we know how easily upset they get. Assuming this is the first stage, the next could be to prevent contamination with non-halal and unclean goods, they simply stop selling anything which is not halal compliant.
I shall no longer be shopping at Tesco and will suggest to friends and family they do the same. One last thought, how about a new slogan to commemorate the occasion: “every little helps on the road to islamisation”!

Belgium MPs vote for nationwide ban on burqa and niqab

These kind of issues need to be tackled and its our stupid Goverment who would not take any action like other european countries do.

I dont want to eat Halal meat and wouldn’t like to see any supermarket offering it. All boils down is greed for money not for our values.

I would like to see Halal pork served at these counters, I would not mind eating that. lol

  • Sarah says:

I suppose stunning animals with a high voltage gun before killing them is more humane then?? What are you all so afraid of????

Shall we start the battery hen debate too, thousands of chickens crammed into a tiny space, fattened up and rubbing their emaciated bodies in their own excrement. Nice, I’d eat that….. You lot do, clearly. How ethical is that???? Cheap though. I’m sure your conscience is clear

Like a bunch of nursery school children throwing your toys out of your pram, wah wah, “I’m not going to shop in Tesco anymore because you’ve hurt my feelings”. Stop being so narrow minded, not all Brits are perfect, me included, so stop boxing all things Islamic into the same box

Yes you can buy pork in Muslim coutries, how ignorant. These employees wear plastic gloves because, as per their religion, they can’t touch pork. Aarggghh, you make us all look so stupid and narrow minded. No wonder we Brits have such a bad reputation outside of the UK, no wonder we’re all deserting our beloved country.

  • Un:dhimmi says:

And we’re throwing our toys out of our pram? You miss the point of the article entirely with your straw man arguments.

  • John Pepper says:

Time for a war to settle it all. Bring it on.
