We don’t agree with everything Wilders says, as will be evidenced upon reading our articles about him. What he is right about though, in our view; is the fundamental, irreconcilable incompatibility between closed, prescriptive Islam and open, ‘rights and responsibilities’ democratic Western life.

Your argument comparing the present situation with the pogroms of the 20th century is disingenuous. The difference between the present conflict between the Ummah and the kuffar and the anti-Semitism of the 1930s, is that the latter was manufactured and orchestrated by one man.

Wilders has manufactured nothing. The present trouble stems from overwhelming evidence of a systemic hostility to (and abuse of) Western democratic norms, which emanates from present-day Islamism – and which does not go unnoticed by non-Muslim, indigenous populations; who are forced to live with it.

This is exacerbated by rising popular anger with the political classes who foisted it upon them – along, in many cases, with a cultural and legal framework which prevents criticism of it – unasked.

It is incredible once again with 60 years of the fall of nazis in europe we still have people such as wilder who will use any excuse to pick on a minority be it the jews then or the muslims now. The quran does not say anything about the sharih as it did not exist until much later though the progress of law. The shariah is a bunch of laws codified upto the 12th century and stopped being codified after the abasaids in baghdad feel (due to the mongol invasions) Neither extremist muslims not much different from the christian counterparts nor nazis or those who will pretend they represent free speech and democracy will lead us into believing that they indeed aren’t the ones seeking totalirian poweres while looking for someone to havte and velify. Not much has changed from the jew hating of the last century and now its the turn of the muslims to be made the scape goats! Go read the Quran both right wing extremists and “islamic” extremists as you are more alike then apart then you realise!

The Labour party has overtaken the Christian Democrats and Geert Wilders’ anti-Islam PVV in the latest Maurice de Hond opinion poll.

With three months to the general election, the poll puts Labour on 27 seats, up three on last week. The poll was taken this weekend, after the resignation of Wouter Bos and the announcement that Amsterdam mayor Job Cohen is standing for the party leadership.

Labour’s new support comes at the expense of the Socialist party, Liberal democrats D66 and left-wing green party GroenLinks, De Hond said.

The De Hond poll puts the PVV on 26 seats, one down on last week, and Christian Democrats on 25, up one on a week ago.
