Caught red-handed. New papers show Iran working on nuclear bomb:

A document containing new evidence that Iran is developing nuclear weapons is genuine, according to Sky sources.

The Times has obtained notes describing a four-year plan to test a neutron initiator, the component of a nuclear bomb that triggers an explosion.

Foreign intelligence agencies have apparently dated the document to early 2007, four years after Iran was thought to have suspended its weapons programme.

Sky News foreign affairs editor Tim Marshall said: “Sources confirm that the document is genuine. However, the Government and the US will be reluctant to wave it about just yet.

“There’s three weeks to go until President Obama’s end-of-the-year deadline for his policy of engagement with Iran.

“The big push for sanctions will not begin until January. No-one wants to pre-empt that.”

A Foreign Office (FCO) spokesman said: “We do not comment on intelligence, but our concerns about Iran’s nuclear programme are clear and based on information in the public domain.

“The International Atomic Energy Agency has made clear that it cannot verify Iran’s nuclear programme is for exclusively peaceful purposes.”

Times diplomatic correspondent Catherine Philp told Sky News there was no question the document related to a military rather than civilian use of nuclear power.

“This is a document from within a military command structure, so you are dealing with a military nuclear programme,” she said.

Concern about Tehran’s nuclear programme has been growing in recent weeks.

Last month, Iran unveiled plans to build 10 new uranium enrichment plants in breach of United Nations resolutions.

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad revealed he had ordered that five sites be built and locations found for five more.

The announcement came just two days after Tehran was censured by the international community over its existing nuclear activities, and the FCO said it was “seriously concerned” by the development.

The evidence has been mounting for years. Un:dhimmi and other sites have been reporting on the rapidly-increasing amount of evidence that the Tehran régime has been working towards a nuclear weapons capability throughout the year; while the developed world and the dhimmi mainstream media have generally scoffed at the idea and downplayed it.

Now the reality is upon us – and we’re not exactly confident that President Obama and the Western world in general will do what needs to be done.

But it must be done. Iran must be disarmed.
